Author Instructions

Please note that an author of an accepted extended abstract MUST register for and attend the conference AND present the work for it to be published in the proceedings. Papers that do not meet these requirements will not be published. No exceptions.

The conference caters to both practitioners and academics. For this purpose, the format of the submissions is divided into two categories: Practitioners and Academia, with different submission requirements. Tutorial and special session submissions adhere to the following directions as well. Please carefully read the Author Instructions listed here to ensure an accurate submission.

For Practitioners

We invite authors who are in the industry to submit a descriptive abstract of at least 500 words in length total, divided into the following sections:

  1. Abstract- a summary stating what is new in the paper, i.e., what the contribution of the paper is. This section should be around 200 words in length.
  2. Motivation- the background of the work. References to the literature should be added in order to clarify the importance of the problem and the reasons for doing the work. This section should be around 200 words.
  3. Results- sample results that substantiate the suggested approach. Figures, including preliminary (existing) results and/or proposed architectures should be added. Avoid stating only expected results. A brief discussion of the figures is required.

For Academia

We invite authors in academia to submit an extended abstract which should be at least 4 pages in length (500 words minimum), or, alternatively, the full paper. A clear statement of contribution is required. The abstract/paper should also include an introduction, background and theory, a discussion of the validation and results, and a literature survey.

For everyone - Submit your abstract through EDAS

All papers and abstracts should be submitted electronically to the EDAS Website at www.edas.info. Please submit to "IEEE SysCon 2019" listed on the currently accepting submissions page. To simplify abstract slotting to Tracks, authors will be limited to selecting one Topic area only from the listing on the Call for Papers. If the abstract does not fit any of the topic areas listed, there will be an “other” option.

Submissions shorter than the minimum listed for their respective categories will be automatically rejected. The extended abstract should summarize the scope of the paper and explicitly include the primary results and findings, emphasizing new advances, theories and/or applications so that the program committee will be able to understand the originality and the value of the work. A submission implies willingness to register and present the work if the paper is accepted for presentation at the conference.

Manuscripts will be reviewed by the Technical Program Committee. All authors of accepted extended abstracts, must submit the full paper version by February 13, 2019, register for the conference, and attend to present their papers. The maximum length for final papers is 8 pages without exceptions.

For your convenience, the Style Manual and Conference Paper Templates from IEEE in various formats are linked here. Please refer to both of these when preparing your manuscript.

*The maximum length for final papers is 8 pages without exceptions.

**Accepted Papers will be included in the IEEE Xplore digital library and indexed by EI/Compendex.
